What Do Disabled People Make of the Church? An Introduction to Disability Awareness in Church Life

This day begins with a discussion of what constitutes best practice on disability and church, why disability awareness isn’t just about ramps and loos and introduces a theology of hospitality for all.

We’ll consider what changes we might make in our local churches, the psychology of our attitudes to disability, and how we can our thinking on disability and the church.

Tutor:
Jane Wallman-Girdlestone is an Honorary Research Fellow at Aberdeen University in Disability Theology. She sees disability theology as essentially liberationist - with the experience of disabled people informing non-disabled people. She is also an ordained Anglican priest.
