TQQ: The Hopeful Community: Living in the Light of the End
- Course Dates: Tue 30 May 2017, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

The Christian community lives in the space between the introduction of God’s new world, where hope has been realised through Jesus Christ, and the hopeful, but as yet unrealized, expectation that God’s plan for the world will eventually be fulfilled.
The roots of this hope are to be found in the preaching of Jesus himself. The Church could entertain the revolutionary thought that it was the community of the new age, but it also had to come to terms with the dulling of the hope for the second coming of Christ. What is the effect of the ‘now’ and the ‘not yet’ on the self-understanding and life of the Church?
