Swords Into Ploughshares: The Ambivalent Role of the Arts and Religion in Building Peace
- Course Dates: Wed 7 March 2018, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

In this illustrated presentation Professor Jolyon Mitchell from the University of Edinburgh will explore the role of different media arts in both inciting violence and promoting peace.
Drawing on examples from different parts of the world (including countries such as Israel-Palestine; Mozambique; Rwanda and the UK), Professor Mitchell will explore the ambiguous role of the arts and religion in building peace.
