Listening to the Voices of Dementia: Learning from the Inside
- Course Dates: Mon 17 September 2018, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm

An opportunity to listen carefully to the experiences of people who are living with dementia to develop understanding through dialogue.
The event should be helpful for people living with dementia, family members, professionals, volunteers, clergy and pastoral workers.
Keynote speaker: Jennifer Bute (pictured above), a former GP from Southampton who retired when she was diagnosed with early onset dementia. Since then, she has given many talks and says that the experience of helping people to understand the condition has been ‘a glorious opportunity.’
Jennifer will be joined by Elizabeth Bartlett, a Salisbury-based social worker who has pioneered new methods of counselling and peer support for people living with dementia and their carers. The workshop will be hosted by the Principal of Sarum College, James Woodward, who has written and lectured widely on dementia and spirituality.
