Experience the Cookham Stations of the Cross
- Course Dates: Thu 22 March 2018, 10:45 am to 4:30 pm

Since 2003 the village of Cookham, beloved inspiration of 20th century painter Stanley Spencer, has mounted an outdoor installation of the Stations of the Cross.
Each station is unique and makes everyday village locations places of encounter with Christ’s passion.
The day will take place in Cookham, Berkshire. We will gather for tea/coffee and introductions at a community-owned pub in Cookham Dean, before walking the Stations together led by Reverend Nick Plant (associate vicar of Cookham).
You are asked to bring a packed lunch and tea/coffee will be provided in the parish centre. The afternoon includes time to reflect on our experiences together; discussion of the project with Nick; and a visit to the nearby Stanley Spencer Gallery which houses Spencer’s Last Supper among other important works. The day ends with refreshments in a local pub.
Please note that the day involves walking two miles, including on a path, so appropriate footwear is recommended. Travel to Cookham is not included in the cost of the course and participants need to make their own travel arrangements. See below for details.
