Disability: Theology and Practice
- Course Dates: Fri 3 March 2017, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Reflecting upon the challenges which disability presents to contemporary churches, this day will examine ways of thinking about disability through Scripture and Christian Tradition.
On this basis, as well as using the resources of disability theory, we shall think about how local congregations, church schools, and other Christian institutions can develop excellent practice in responding to disability issues. Participants will be encouraged to share their own experiences of good practice.
This day will look at a range of disabilities including learning, physical and mental disabilities. The hope is that by tackling some of the challenges and issues faced, this day will begin a wider public discussion, listening from a range of different voices and the disabled community as a whole.
