Contemplation, Meditation and Mindfulness: Intersecting Traditions
- Course Dates: Wed 6 June 2018, 11:00 am to Thu 7 June 2018, 4:00 pm

Recent decades have seen a growth in meditative, contemplative and mindfulness practices, in and across different faith traditions and more secular contexts.
For example, Zen has attracted practitioners from beyond Buddhism; Thomas Merton has inspired engagement with contemplation; Mindfulness practice has become a recognised aspect of contemporary healthcare; the World Community of Christian Meditation has connected many with the work of John Main and Lawrence Freeman.
This conference draws together practitioners from across traditions, including those rooted in different faiths and those which extend practice into secular settings. It will offer participants the opportunity to share in a dialogue of practice. The aim will be to experience and reflect on how our traditions intersect; on how our practices are complementary to each other as well as how they differ; and on what we can learn from each other.
