Concluding the 1st World War Centenary: Liturgical Resources and Perspectives

  • Course Dates: Fri 8 June 2018, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

As the 1st World War Centenary draws to a close, this course aims to gather experience, disseminate research work, and prepare for the liturgical events of Armistice Day 2018.

In taking stock of the impact of the commemorations participants will have the opportunity to share ‘good news’ stories of local projects or liturgical events in which they have been involved.

The tutors will present the findings of their innovative research on the 1st World War, Maureen Penrose on the hugely varied liturgical experiences of the chaplains at the Front and Clare Phillips on the religious vision represented in the stained glass windows installed in churches in Dorset at the conclusion of the War.

The course will also review the liturgical resources that are available for use at the conclusion of the Centenary, most especially those for Armistice Day in 2018.
