A Thousand Years of Christmas
- Course Dates: Fri 9 December 2016, 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Get in the Christmas spirit with an enchanting evening of song and verse with Archbishop Rowan Williams, Sally Bradshaw and Mark Etherington.
The evening distils a captivating Christmas atmosphere. Archbishop Rowan Williams needs no introduction, but in this show he sings arias and reads Dylan Thomas like a true local.
The show covers all the moods of Christmas from mediaeval mysticism to a hangover. Dr Williams and distinguished soprano Sally Bradshaw offer a breath-taking range of characters and moods, and perform music from the 11th century to Victorian ballads and modern songs. They are accompanied by music director Mark Etherington on piano, bells, viola…what next?

Expect department store Santas, Dickensian frosts, bishops and Music Hall characters, to name a few. The show has been a sell out hit from London to Manila and has been performed as far afield as Borneo, Greece and the South of France, as well as in theatres up and down the UK from Pitlochry to Barnstaple.
Visit the Christmas in Wiltshire webpage for more Christmas events and activities.
Tickets for this evening are £12 and are available from Sarum College. Contact Alison Ogden on 01722 424826 or aogden@sarum.ac.uk.
