TQQ: Life in the Spirit: Recognizing Shared Practices Amid Disagreement
- Course Dates: Tue 11 June 2019, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

We live in a time of much plurality and division within Christian churches.
How might Christians learn to disagree with each other, even sharply, without always having to withhold recognition from each other?
Anglicans and Methodists sometimes like to suggest that their traditions balance Scripture, Reason, Tradition and – sometimes added – Experience. These “sources” get called like independent witnesses to the courtrooms of Christian disputation. But the model is a weak nineteenth and twentieth century concoction, and it tends to encourages party-line rehearsals of disputes over their relative status. In this session we explore whether there could be fruitful ways of reconceiving this model in aid of more constructive conversation among Christians.
