2016 Sarum Lectures – Engaging Arts and Minds: A Sort of Christian Apologetics
- Course Dates: Wed 4 May 2016, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

There has been a renaissance in the relationship between Christianity and the arts.
There is an enormous willingness on the part of artists to explore meaning and faith creatively and with imagination.
Whilst there might be safety for the Church in accepting only the work of Christian artists, the more important engagement is with good art that respects its Christian context. It makes us bigger people and deepens both our cultural life and the life of faith.
This lecture is part of a series of four held in partnership with Salisbury Cathedral, given by the Bishop of Salisbury, Nicholas Holtam. ‘Engaging Arts and Minds: A Sort of Christian Apologetics’ will be held in the North Transept of Salisbury Cathedral.
On sale before the lecture, exclusively to Sarum College Bookshop ahead of publication, will be Paula Gooder’s eagerly anticipated book, The Body: Biblical Spirituality for the Whole Person, based on the 2013 Sarum Lectures. See here for full details or contact the bookshop on 01722 326899 or bookshop@sarum.ac.uk to reserve your copy.
