2015 Magna Carta Lectures with Dominic Grieve

  • Course Dates: Thu 12 March 2015, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Dominic Grieve MP – Magna Carta and Human Rights Today.

Dominic Grieve is a conservative MP who is a supporter of the European Court of Human Rights, and of Britain’s membership of it.

Grieve was the Attorney General for England and Wales and the Advocate General for Northern Ireland until July 2014. His areas of political interest include Law and Order, Constitution, European Union, Defence, Environment and Foreign Affairs. He is currently president of the Franco-British Society, vice-chairman of the Franco-British Council and Honorary Recorder of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

“Those of us in the party who see the maintenance and promotion of an international system of human rights as being in the national interest and entirely in keeping with the Conservative tradition of freedom under the law will win that argument … but we must not stay silent.”

Dominic Grieve, The Guardian, December 2014
