The City of Salisbury

The medieval city of Salisbury is also known as ‘the city in the countryside’.

Situated in Central Southern England, Salisbury is about 90 miles south west of London in the historic county of Wiltshire.

In Salisbury you will find cobbled streets, charming half-timbered buildings, traditional English eating houses and characterful shopping streets, as well as a superb range of attractions, including the nearby World Heritage site of Stonehenge.

Sarum College is located in the Cathedral Close, with the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral just steps away.

The Close is in central Salisbury, a five-minute walk from the High Street with shops, cafes and a twice-weekly market. There are excellent arts and cultural venues, including the Salisbury PlayhouseCity HallOdeon cinema, as well as award-winning museums and Mompesson House, a fine National Trust property.

If you’re looking for nightlife you will find dozens of buzzing restaurants, pubs and bars just a few minutes’ walk away.
