Book Launch with Jeremy Davies

InSeasonAndOutOfSeason_web2Jeremy Davies will be in Sarum College Bookshop on Tuesday 24 June at 4pm to launch his new book ‘In Season and Out of Season: Crafting Sermons for all Occasions‘.

Preaching is a vital element of pastoral ministry. It is a means by which priests, deacons and Readers engage with the people of God in a given community, whether a regular congregation, or a gathering for unique events such as a wedding, funeral, festival or ceremony of remembrance.

In Season and Out of Season is a wise and practical guide to creating sermons that are appropriate for a wide range of different situations. It offers a rich doctrine of preaching in the Anglican tradition, provides a wealth of helpful advice that will build confidence and develop skills, and is illustrated with a wide variety of sermon texts.

Jeremy Davies served in parish ministry in London’s East End and in university chaplaincy before becoming Precentor of Salisbury Cathedral, a role he held for twenty-six years. He is well known as a liturgist, hymn writer and broadcaster, and is renowned in many countries for his preaching.
