How has Christ been seen for the last two millenia? How was Jesus seen in the New Testament, and how did that view develop and change? Join author Martyn Whittock for a talk which will take us on a journey via the Desert Fathers, through art, via the Crusades, the Middle Ages and on into our present time. Liberation Theology, other faiths and the Post-Modern Christ of the 21st century may also be on the agenda!
The talk will be based on the author’s new book Christ: the First 2000 years. From holy man to global brand: How our view of Christ has changed across time and cultures which was described by the Bishop of Salisbury as “Informative and insightful; an excellent summary both of what we know today and its significance for he world around us”. The talk is sure to be informative and insightful too.
