This day will look at the changes which occurred after the Reformation and even through the nineteenth and twentieth century as the building was changed to facilitate the latest liturgical ideas and practices.
We will also explore the subject of architectural style – What is Early English? – How different is it from the Palladian style? – and examine some of the concepts behind the initial designs for Salisbury Cathedral. Part of the day will involve a visit to the cathedral.
This study day expands on the themes discussed in the Salisbury Cathedral Winter lecture on 7 Jan 2014 by Tim Tatton-Brown.
Price £45, includes lunch and refreshments
