This short one day course will focus on Medieval English Mysticism and seek to address the question of why mysticism is becoming such a popular form of spirituality in today’s Britain.
By focusing on the English mystics the course seeks to explore our English mystical heritage and reflect on whether the spiritual concerns that our predecessors discuss are still relevant for us today.
The day will be divided up into 4 different lectures. Each will examine different aspects of the rich English mystical tradition that is expressed in the writings of The Cloud-Author, Richard Rolle, Margery Kempe, Julian of Norwich and Walter Hilton.
The course is open to anyone. No prior knowledge of the English mystics or mysticism will be necessary.
£45, including lunch and refreshments.
